When the first Assassin’s Creed was released it was a technological triumph and gave gamers a new way of getting from A to B – free running. The now famous Eagle dive and the sword fighting only added to the pleasure of finding the tallest building and scaling it as fast as you could. Not a bad story either. A couple of great installments later and Ezio Auditore is back in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, due out November 2011.
Those who completed the last game, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood will be up to date with the story line of Ezio and Desmond but what happens once all the enemies are gone? Where does a hero go when the evil is vanquished? Revelations takes us on that journey!
There’s familiar environments such as dusty streets and buildings with handy ledges crop up as you’d expect and the same great voice acting that brought the story to life originally.
We’re hoping that the story flows just as well as the last two games and doesn’t become dependent on over use of Ezio’s better tricks which could turn a great series into something that should have quit while ahead.
Having said that, we know some of the trailers (below) look great in terms of gameplay – the graphics look even better than last time and the cut scenes are film-quality.
No sign of Desmond as yet in the trailers but as his story has always been secondary (in our opinion) to Ezio and Altair, we aren’t too bothered just yet!
